MYSTERIOUS WORLDS

Were nothing is as it seems

The Truth Is Out There

I like to think that deep within us all we hold this belief that there is more to life to what we see around us on a daily basis. A belief that keeps the mind wondering. Wondering is there something else out there that we have yet to discover? For some that belief is in UFOs and Alien Beings. Beings from a planet far beyond the reaches of our own galaxy. Could it be really possible that out there somewhere in another galaxy there lies a planet similar to our own? One that houses life. That within this life form they have somehow managed to find a way to travel through time and space. Something scientists on our planet have failed to do to same extent. Thus making these Alien Beings of much greater intelligence than us. I don't claim that every single light in the night sky is a UFO. I don't claim that every report ever made about such sightings has to be considered as true. For every ten genuine cases I am sure you could find one hundred hoax claims. One hundred hoax claims that are picked up on and used to debunk those stories that are genuine. It would also be a fair comment to state that you have those people who are over enthusiastic when it comes to lights in the night sky. Every little light has to be a UFO of alien origin. These people tend to spoil things for the real investigators. With their outlandish claims of been taken to far off planets and shown secrets they were told not to reveal to anybody. The crackpot element as far as ufology is concerned.

But there is another theory. One that concerns UFOs more so than Alien Beings. Ones that means expanding the mind a little further than you ever may have in the past. What if these UFOs are not actually from any far off planets in the depths of space. What is they are ' us ' in the future? Having learned all about time travel and using that knowledge to travel back in time. The question would always be asked, ' why would we want to do this? ' A simple answer would be to say ' because we can '. If you saw how life played out by looking back on history and you had the power to try and alter the past, would you not at least give it a go? Hard to say what is more believable. Alien Beings from the far reaches of another galaxy. Or time travelers from our own future. Without trying to confuse the issue any further there are also those who believe in Ancient Astronauts. Beings who visited earth and help build some of history's most famous landmarks. The claim is that, at the time, man didn't understand the knowledge they were been offered. Thus in history, if you look closely, you will seem to seem to see a far more advanced race of people for a few hundred years. Then it was like a step backwards. That all this knowledge that seemed to exist a hundred years earlier was suddenly gone. The beauty of the unknown. A beauty that leaves a lot of questions and so few answers. If we are to be honest about it, it is truth we will never know the answer to. So you either fall in with those believe or those who don't. But having an open mind is a beauty in itself

But I'm for exploring all realms of the paranormal. Not just UFOs and Alien Beings. Spirits or Ghosts are just as big a mystery when it comes to the unexplained. For the sake or writing page up I will refer to them as Spirits only. I think of Hollywood whenever I hear the term ' Ghost '. Casper and other films that have crude blanket shaped characters. To believe in the Spirit world is much like asking a person to believe in any God. You are either for the whole concept. Or you are against it. This has always been an area of great interest for me. I like to believe that once we are done with our living on this earth that there is that something else that awaits us all. When you think about it, the greatest mystery of life is death. For only in death will we find out the real answers to so many questions that have been asked for centuries. I won't pretend I have ever seen a Spirit. Or had any contact at all from anybody I knew who has passed on from this life. But that does not mean I can't believe that Spirits exist. There have been far too many well documented cases to suggest that something beyond the norm is going on. Again I will be honest and say I do believe you will get the hoaxers making their false claims. Ruining the good work that real paranormal investigators are trying to do. Some of the accounts we hear of haunting's are told by people who stand more to lose in life by coming forward with their stories. Police officers. Judges. Politicians. People in respectful jobs. People who stand to gain nothing at all by coming forward as they do. But like everything else you will always have your sceptics. It goes hand in hand with everything in life. Their views have to be listened to as well. Because not every ' bump ' in your house is a Spirit trying to make contact. A lot of the time there is a logical explanation. And once investigated in the right way if answers can be found then so be it. But if the sceptics can't explain away the odd case or two then they should be as honest in their views too. Hold their hands up and admit that they have no earthly explanation for what is going on. Don't rubbish every single claim they hear. Be ready to accept that at some time they may be having an encounter of the paranormal type.

In constructing this small site Spirits and UFOs were always going to be the main two topics. But I needed to fill up a little bit more space. Cryptozooology was one of the topics I turned to. Some famous stories of creatures that have existed for centuries. I won't sit here and claim there is much proof that any of these creatures really exist. But they are creatures that have fascinated the imagination of millions. I had the great pleasure of once standing on the shores of Lochness. Looking out across the Loch thinking of the many stories told of the monster that is said to live within its waters. All I saw that day was silly tourists wanting to dip their feet in the Loch. No great monster. But no great disappointment either. Happy just to be there looking over the mysterious Loch. The other topic I turned to was Voodoo. A subject that we in the Western world might find hard to believe. But to others it is a religion. It is also something to be feared. As you will read from the stories I used. Most were murder cases. Ritual killings. Brutal in the extreme. But stories that I thought would fascinate the reader. Some may claim it has nothing to do with the paranormal at all. But those who practice it would tell you their bodies can be taken over by Spirits. And the rituals that they carry out, to them, all has some form of spiritual meaning.

Other topics covers on the site include Out Of Body Experiences. Something many people have claimed to have had. One thing I won't claim is to have any answers for what they experienced. Some people might find some of the stories a little odd. You may shrug your shoulders and dismiss them straight away. That is the choice of the reader. We might find other people who believe in such experiences are more open minded to the idea of Out Of Body Experiences. I am not trying to force my opinions on anybody at all. Read the stories and draw your own conclusions.

Spontaneous Human Combustion is also covered. It is one area I find fascinating. The fact that a body can be burned in full, yet the chair the person was sitting on remains unburned. I know many explinations have been offered up over the years. The wick effect to name but one. Which claims that the fat within the human body someone catches fire and burns the person from the inside out. I once saw them doing a test on a pig to explain the wick effect. It took a long time and a lot of heat to get that pig to burn. In some human cases we are talking but a matter of minutes. Not hours. One case you will read has a girl with flames coming out of her mouth as she sits at the kitchen table with her family. What you want to believe happens to these people is up to you, the reader. One thing we know for certain is that nearly all end in certain death. Plus that the fire begins within the body. Which can be a little hard to find a good explination for. Hence the subject has always been one that really interested me.

The Quija Board was also an area I covered. I think a lot of spirit contact stories over the years somehow or another always have a Quija Board involved. In most cases, those people using the Quija Board don't really know what they are doing. It starts out as a game. But then turns serious when the unexplained begins to happen. There are others who are experts when it comes to using the Quija Board. They will always tell you that it is not a game. That you need the right kind of protection when deal with the unknown. There are certain charms they wear for protection and certain words they use, both to open the session, and again when finished. But like all areas of the paranormal there are also others who laugh at the Quija Board. They don't see it as anything at all. Dismiss quickly any stories that it can be used as a tool to contact spirits. They are all entitled to their opinions. We won't knock them just because they don't want to believe.

Past Life Regression was another area I decided to add in to the site. I will be honest and admit that a lot of accounts of Past Life Regression can be rubbished rather quickly. I think it depends on who the person is and how they are remember their past life. I am inclined to believe a person who knows a lot about a place they have never been near in the life. It may even be in another country. But they are remembering these memories on their own. What you find today are these groups who pair couples up and one more or less makes suggestions to the other person. Like asking them for the first name that comes into their head. Or what the area they see looks like. What kind of person they see themselves as. To me this is more power of suggestion that real Past Life Regression. We could all sit down with another person and come up with a past life if we were to use that method. Just by simply wanting to have lived before. So I never accept those sort of accounts at all. I tend to prefer the accounts from people that don't need any suggestive ideas from any outside source at all. They are simply honest people who have memories of a time long since past. A time before the life they are living today. No hypnosis or weird groups needed to help them remember their past lives.

I also decided to throw in a one off topic on Remote Viewing. Why only a one off topic? Because the one topic speaks louder than any topics could ever do. What it proves is that even the biggest governments in the world believed there was something behind some areas of the paranormal. The US government began its Remote Viewing programme back in the early 1970's after it discovered that the Russians were using Remote Viewers to spy on them. Better known as Psychic Spies. So if the Russians were doing it, why shouldn't the US government too. They were willing to believe that such a thing could work. Instead of mocking at the idea, they invested millions into various programmes. Designed to keep pace with the Russians. Or more to the point, designed to spy back. Sounds like an episode of the X-Files. But if two world super powers believed in aspects of the paranormal, I find it hard to believe how ordinary people can knock it with such ease.

I decided to run with the area of Psychic Detectives. The idea of a psychic detective is an exciting and romantic one. They have appeared in much fiction, from short stories to movies, and the press love them. Documentaries are popular and newspapers love to report that a psychic is helping the police with an investigation. What's the reality behind the hype? The idea of a lone private investigator using his or her psychic powers to solve crime is very appealing but also very rare in the real world. Most psychic detectives are ordinary people - sometimes professional psychics, sometimes not - who assist the police by providing information or ideas. At its simplest this often involves an ordinary person who sees a report on a crime and has a "feeling" about it. Sometimes they will report this to the police, more often they will keep it to themselves or share it only with their immediate family. Once the crime is solved and the details made public then they discover that they were right. This sort of experience is difficult to verify because we only hear about the successful cases - for every person who is right, many others probably have a "feeling" that turns out to be totally wrong and is quietly forgotten. Professional psychics sometimes make their insights public. The press usually love to report on such things. Unfortunately they are less keen on reporting on the aftermath so it can be difficult to track down whether the psychic was ultimately right or wrong. It is the nature of the media to concentrate on the spectacular successes rather than boring failures. It's sometimes claimed that the police have actively approached a psychic for help with a particular crime. Most forces deny this officially, although they will listen to information from a psychic as they will listen to anyone else. Despite this the belief remains that unofficially the police do use such psychic detectives. After all, if they're stumped on a case then what have they got to lose? At the very least having a new and possibly unusually viewpoint might suggest previously unknown avenues of enquiry. The police also have to consider the outside possibility that someone claiming psychic knowledge of a crime might actually have been involved and be taunting or trying to mislead them. Rather than requesting help from outside psychics, the police might already have them as detectives, probably without anyone being aware of it. If psychic powers do exists then such powers would obviously help in police work. A natural psychic might well be drawn to detection and if they did choose a career in the police would probably advance rapidly. If one believes in the existence of psychic abilities then it would seem likely that there are a significant number of detectives who have such abilities without realising it. Some people believe that "psychic" powers are in fact highly developed versions of existing senses combined with strong intuitive abilities. The "psychic" is simply making observations and connections that other people might miss. If that's so then such skills would, of course, be extremely valuable to a detective, whether we choose to label them psychic or mundane. Many detectives have hunches, gut feelings and a nose for the truth - the blue sense. That's a vital part of good old fashioned police work. Maybe the best detectives are all, by some definition, psychic detectives.

Come the end of the of the day, when viewing the paranormal, it can all simply boil down to having an open mind. Fact is, you either believe or you don't. The paranormal covers many areas. A lot I have not covered on this site so far. But with each passing day I find myself adding more and more to the site. On each of the main six pages you will see the various categories on the right hand side of the page. The site offered a blog option. So by using the blog option I could expand what I wanted to write about. That's exactly what I done. But I am well aware that in site building you are never finished. There is always that something else you find that you must add to your site. And what started off as a six page web site now houses over one hundred pages. All I ask is that you, the reader, keep an open mind. Don't come the site with a closed mind. If you don't believe in any aspects of the paranormal at all there is nothing for you here on the site. I know some stories are harder to believe than others. I will openly admit to that one myself. But there is so much to be explored when dealing with the paranormal. One area might only be of interest to you. Or maybe you will read something you never heard of before. Something that you might wish to learn more about. After all, we all have to begin somewhere. I began years ago with a small book called ' The Amityville Horror '. Once I read that book I was fascinated and wanted to learn as much as I could on the paranormal. I began reading up other areas. Not restricting myself to haunting's. Once you begin that first search you find a new world. Just sitting there waiting to be discovered. I never jumped to conclusions. I read the facts. Took a look at what evidence was at hand and made my own mind up on various things as I went along. Hence I don't think that asking others to approach the paranormal in the same way is asking too much of them. Once you step into the realm of ' Mysterious Worlds ', take each step slowly. Read what is on offer. Then make your own mind up. Don't dismiss the possibility of something that is outside of the norm simply because it doesn't fit in with what makes sense in your own head prior to reading the stories. There is lots to read and with any luck you will find something of interest to you. Something that will make you want to come back to site again.
